Mad Buffalo Osingese Rite


Ritual kebo-keboan held once a year in the Muharram or Suro (Javanese calendar). This month is believed to have magical powers. That said, this ritual emerged since the 18th century. In Banyuwangi, Kebo-keboan conserved in two places in the Village Alasmalang namely, District Singojuruh, and Aliyan Village, District Rogojampi.
